Sungji Hong est née
en 1973 en Corée. Son travail compositionnel
inclus des pièces allant du solo à
l'ensemble, mais aussi des oeuvres vocales, ballets
et pièces électroaocustiques. Elle
a réçu des commandes de l'Université
de Harvard, du festival international de Tongyoung
en Corée, de l'orchestre philharmonique
de Séoul, de la fondation culturelle Asiana,
de la fondation pour la musique sacrée
aux USA, de la Société international
Isan Yn en Allemagne, ou encore du festival Mata
aux USA. Ses oeuvres sont jouées régulièrement
dans le monde entier par des solistes ou ensembles
prestigieux tels les solistes du Royal Opera House
Covent Garden à Londres, le Nieuw Ensemble
à Amsterdam, l'ensemble TIMF, Linea, ou
encore le Brave New Works.
Les oeuvres de Sungji Hong ont été
jouées dans plus de 131 villes et dans
plus de 39 pays, en particulier à Carnegie
Hall (New York), le Kennedy Center (Washigton),
Gewandhaus (Leipzig), Konzerthaus (Berlin), San
Clemente Church (Venice), Flagey (Brussels) ,
ou encore le Queen Elizabeth Hall de Londres.
Elle a reçu de nombreuses distinctions,
dont le premier prix au concours "Jesus Villa-Rojo",
le 1er prix du "European Competition of the
State Conservatory of Thessaloniki" , le
1er prix du "Brave New Works Composers Competition",
le 1er prix du "Temple Music Composition
Prize", le 1er prix pour une musique originale
de ballet aux ISCM World Music Days, un 1er prix
au "Montserrat International Camera Music
Composition Competition", un second prix
au "Salvatore Martirano Composition Competition",
au "Dimitris Mitropoulos International Competition",
au "Theodore Front Prize" (IAWM), au
"Yoshiro Irino Memorial Prize" (ACL),
entre autres récompenses.

Sungji Hong was born in 1973 in Korea. Sungji
Hong’s creative output includes works ranging
from solo instruments to full orchestra, as well
as choral, ballet and electroacoustic music.Her
works have been commissioned by the Fromm Music
Foundation (Harvard University, USA), the Tongyoung
International Music Festival (Korea), the Seoul
Philharmonic Orchestra (Korea), Keumho Asiana
Cultural Foundation (Korea), the Foundation for
Universal Sacred Music (USA), the International
Isang Yun Music Society (Germany) and the MATA
Festival (USA).Her works are regularly performed
at international festivals and in major concert
series throughout Europe, the United States and
Asia by leading ensembles and orchestras such
as the Soloists of the Royal Opera House Covent
Garden, the Nieuw Ensemble of Amsterdam, the Ensemble
TIMF, the Ensemble Linea, the Brave New Works,
among others.
Her music has been performed in over 39 countries
and 131 cities at such venues as Carnegie Hall
